Where does the story start?

This story occurs in the year 2035, eleven years since five aliens from five different worlds had five different adventures. Each alien child found themselves on Earth due to no fault of their own, changing Earth and humanity forever. Humanity, though a complex series of diplomatic back and forth, are invited to the Galactic Council for first official diplomatic talks with one junior diplomat. It is a gesture mirroring the five accidental junior diplomats during first contact.

Galactic Council headquarters is a massive space station in what is considered an uninhabited dual system that has two red suns with a number of celestial bodies orbiting each. The Earth diplomatic ship exits hyperspace through a massive jump gate and approaches the Galactic Council station. Every variable is considered but one. A massive cloud of sentient insects, previously overlooked, decides to perform a surprise welcome dance on the hull of the Earth diplomatic vessel. The humans, not briefed on this event, panics believing tapping and scrapping against their hull is a swarm attack. The five junior diplomats are ejected from the diplomatic vessel towards the Galactic Council station in hopes to save them. However, the escape pods instead scatter to five different worlds that are thought to be uninhabited.

Now, it is a race against time before an unsanctioned welcome dance turns into a major diplomatic nightmare before diplomatic talks can even begin.
