Cultural setting of the story.

Planet Hyve:

Beliefs:

Both the Insecta Hivemind and Flora Collective worship the Mother Sun, giver of life and light.

Practices:

Both the Insecta Hivemind and Flora collective pray to welcome the dawn and pray to say farewell to the dusk. The beginning of each season is celebrated and considered a divine moment of each year.

Laws of society:

Insecta Hivemind:
Everyone has a place and job in the hivemind. Every job is essential and respected.

Flora Collective: All flora has a role and a place in the collective. All flora are respected.

Enforcement:

Insecta Hivemind:
A council of queens from each species of insect in the hivemind make the laws. The laws are enforced by a diverse species force of soldiers. Each individual has independent thought and their thoughts make up the conscious of the hivemind. Any corruption that threatens the hivemind as a whole is instantly discovered and corrected.

The Flora collective:
The elder tree makes the laws. The laws are enforced by the vine network. Each flora has independent thought and greatly respect the wisdom of the elder tree.

Technologies:

The Insecta Hivemind and the Flora Collective use biotechnology. Living spaceships and specially bred soldiers for space battles. The flora ships are writhing masses of vines. The specifics are a closely guarded secret. The Insecta ships are city sizes hives with an admiral queen in command. Weapons are of energized venom and spore propelled thorns.

Impact on main character:

The importance of preventing tradition stagnation to maintain a connection to each generation. The importance of expanding to safeguard a species survival.

A power to be reckoned with. a new voice in the galactic order.


Planet: Silicon Prime.

The Rockers worship the Mother Sun, giver of light and life.

Practices:

The Rockers greet the dawn and bid farewell to the dusk. Each first day of each season is a celebration of surviving the previous season.

Laws of society:

A council of elders make the laws.

Enforcement:

The laws are enforced by soldiers in rock golem exosuits. A living partnership.

Technologies:

The Rockers use crystal based technologies. They have ships and weapons that have remained unused since their last global war that nearly lead to their extinction millions of years prior.

The Primallans worship the Mother Sun, giver of light and life.

Practices:

The Primallans greet the dawn and dusk. The first day of each season is a celebration of surviving the previous season.

Laws of society:

The laws are discussed and made by a council of elder primates.

Enforcement:

The laws are enforced by silver back soldiers. Most confrontations are minor and peacefully resolved.

Technologies:

The Primallans are pre-FTL. They work with nature. They possess fighting abilities similar to popular Anime and science fiction.

Better understanding on reducing waste and reuse of old tech.

Stronger connection to nature. A force to be re reckoned with. A new voice in the Galactic order.

The Mythos greet the dawn and dusk. The first day of each season is a celebration of surviving the previous season.

The laws are discussed and passed through a three tier government. The Head Elder, Council of warriors and council of Sciences.

Enforcement:

The Mythos has a mixed species law enforcement including a council of courts that keeps the governance within the laws they pass.

Technologies:

Like Earth, the Mythos have modern technology with forgotten advanced technology from a distant era hidden in plain sight.

The Specs have a police force and a council of courts that hold all, including government accountable for breaking the law.

The Specs have highly advanced technology but their size places them at a disadvantage.
