A slightly detailed description of a setting in my novel.

Each alien world our five heroes encounter have their own unique landmarks, creatures and terminology. let us explore some of that here...

Planet Hyve:

The Mediator:

The Mediator is a super organism that spans the entire planet with strong, powerful vines. It assumes no authority or control other than keeping the peace between the Insecta and Flora during debates but nor does it answer to anyone. The Mediator is as ancient as the elder tree but twice as wise. When the pirate consortium first came to the planet, The Mediator stopped them at every turn only the drones pose a threat the Mediator is not used to dealing with.

The Rollos:

The Rollos are small, fury tree dwelling creatures that are reminiscent of Star Trek Tribbles.

When threatened or moving on the ground, their hair stands up and flattens as a form of rolling locomotion which is what gives them their name, Rollos. When relaxed and in a tree, they look very much different.

These creatures feed on berries and leaves and are generally nonthreatening. However, like all animals, they will bite if they feel threatened. The bite of a Rollo is not life threatening but it carries a bio electrical current that will force an attacker to let go.

Tree fruit:

The fruits of the Flora vary wildly from 'bananas' that taste like vanilla to 'apples' that taste like liquor to 'oranges' that taste like chocolate. These strange fruits are a favorite among the council worlds and the pirates sell them at outrageous prices due to the risk in harvesting them even with the use of drones.

Insecta honey:

The honey produced by the Insecta has a potent and rich flavor. It also has powerful healing and life extending properties that are very popular among the rich on the galactic worlds. The pirates charge very high rates for the honey due to the even greater risk in harvesting it from the Insecta hives. The 'bees' are capable of chasing the droves to their origin in space.

Language of the Flora:

The Flora communicate telepathically but also with patters in their rustling of leaves, controlled bursts of pollen and tapping of branches. Their language has no translatable words but memories, ideas and emotions which humans, with their new telepathic abilities, can easily translate where the council worlds cannot.

Language of the Insecta:

Like the Flora, the Insecta communicate telepathically but also with patterns in their movements, mandible clicking and wings movement patterns. Also, their language has no translatable words. They instead convey memories, ideas and emotions. Again, the human's telepathic abilities translates this easily where the council cannot.

Planet Silicon Prime:

Vibration Worms:

Vibration worms, named Devil Worms by off non-inhabitants, are large, powerful serpentine like creatures that can grow up to a kilometer long and sixth of a kilometer in diameter. However, a fourth of their mass is a hardened sand armor. Their young look much like a tangle of tentacles the size of a large dog. The young are curious, playful and intelligent.

These creatures feed off of natural crystals in the sand and excrete a variety of potent spices. The spices are highly sought after by the council worlds and companies pay workers handsomely for the dangerous job of extracting it. The vibration worms hunt and sense danger through vibrations. They fiercely protect their territory by latching onto any threat with their powerful jaws and literally vibrating it apart as the depth of the sand crushes the threat at the same time.

Crystal Snakes:

These creatures are small, hostile crystalline based snakes that are the length of Earth’s Garden snakes. They feed on anything that wanders too deep into the sand oceans. These creatures act much like piranha, taking little bites but in swarms. The adult Vibration Worms have nothing to fear due to their hardened sand armor but the juveniles are vulnerable if they wander too deep. The Crystal Worms cannot survive on the surface as they are vulnerable to UV radiation.

The Rockers:

The rockers are sentient crystalline based bipedal people who use rock armored exosuits to navigate the sand oceans safely. They are highly intelligent but have a pacifist nature. They communicate telepathically but also have a language like wind chimes and electricity.

Silicon Prime’s crystals:

The crystals in the sands of Silicon Prime are highly sought for by the council worlds for their regenerative properties. It is the main food source for the Rockers and Vibration Worms. The same platforms used to mine spice also mines the crystals.

Primalla

Long Squirrels:

Long Squirrels resemble a cross between a ferret and a squirrel with a large bushy tail and long body. They are just as playful and curious as ferrets eat insects, nuts and fruit. These creatures are often regarded as pets.

Scrap Dogs:

These creatures resemble canines from ones worst nightmare and have made a home among the obsolete tech and ships scattered across the vast plains. Fortunately, their bark is worse than their bite. They are the size of a St. Bernard and hunt small animals and occasionally chase juveniles who wander too far from the forests. Fatalities are rare and all involve a one hundred and fifty pound over enthusiastic dog jumping up and down on a juvenile in a form of play.

Fruits of the forest:

Mana-Mana Fruit: This is a coconut sized fruit that grows on one type of tree in the main forest. They have a hard shell but a soft interior that tastes like bananas.

Vin Ala Fruit: This is a banana like fruit that tastes like vanilla.

Deez Nuts: (Yes, I had to throw a joke in) These nuts have literally every flavor one can imagine and it is impossible to determine which is which by observation alone.

Primallans:

This is a sentient pre-FTL species of primates with a complex social order that developed working with nature rather than against it. Their technology is bio-mechanical and incompatible with the obsolete tech being constantly dumped onto their planet by the council worlds. The Primallans communicate telepathically but they also have a spoken language.

Key Spoken words:

Azo: Hi or Hello
Boo: Affectionate hi or hello
Bonk: Fu<k
Caw: Fool
Dope: Nope
Err: Ewe (disgust)
Flick: Friend
Goo: Goodbye or Goodnight

Second-Earth

Sprites and Fairies:

These are the messengers of the Mythos community. Their speed, small size and powerful magic allow them to deliver letters and packages almost instantaneously.

Dwarves:

These are the miners of the community and are paid with the gems they find while extracting needed materials.

Goblins:

These are the ‘bankers’ of the community. Highly protective of other being’s wealth even more so of their own.

Ginormous Foul:

These creatures are native to Second Earth and resemble a cross between a turkey and a chicken. This is one of the many domesticated food sources for the community.

Yeet Stalks:

These are tall, semi sentient, extremely strong vine like stocks that protect their territory and their corn like seeds by grabbing an intruder and literally throwing it clear of their claimed territory.

Mythos:

The Mythos are a diverse community of mythological beings from all over Earth. They speak telepathically but also have a spoken language that is too ancient for any sentient species of the council to remember. Their technology is advanced but has been unused for centuries in pursuit of a simpler life.

Planet Goliath

Weed Mice:

These are herbivore mice who eat exclusively all species of plants considered weeds. They have been domesticated and bred like Earth horses for travel.

Mana Cats:

These are small felines who eat Weed Mice but will leave them alone in exchange for a fish. These too have been domesticated and bred to protect the cities from larger animals who might trample the communities.

Crumbling cities:

These are what is left of the sprawling cities since the Specks permanently shrunk themselves to an inch high to avoid over population after the last resource war.

Great Fruit
Watermelon sized grapes used for jam, snacks, and pies.

Fallen Grain
Grain that has fallen from the stalk and used for baked goods.

Specs:
A highly advanced civilization reduced to one inch tall but retaining mass and strength making then formidable in their own right. They speak telepathically but also verbally in several languages. Unfortunately, their small size makes communication difficult.
