Brief reflections on a year
It’s a tough year to chew
In lieu of tradition, I’d have until New Years to swallow
Though at Winter Solstice I’ll start
Digesting the pieces of another year
That nearly tore me to shreds and pulled me apart
Lest it does, before its merry end
Reduced anew, myself to shards

Not a bad way to start, shattered, broken
open at heart.
