“This is taking too long.”

“Well, you started it.”

“Me? How?”

“This is taking too long?…”

“Well, it is!”

“Too long for you? It takes as long as it takes. If we came fifteen minutes earlier, we’d be done by now.”

“So, that’s my fault?!”

“You said it… I told you I’d pick you up at two because they opened at two thirty. I was there at two. We left your house at two twenty…”

“Well, I couldn’t get out.”

“Couldn’t meaning you hadn’t because you forgot to do the dishes because you were watching Calamity on TV, and your mother would ground you if you didn’t wash the dishes again? That kind of couldn’t?”

“It wasn’t Calamity, it was Bear’s Tooth.”

“Bear’s Tooth was on??”

“Yeah, just reruns.”

“Reruns like the whole series??

“Yeah. Mom found the whole series; it was for sale. One of her thrift stores.”

“Wow, lucky!! What’s a thrift store?”

“Are you kidding me?”

“No what is it?

“A second-hand store!”

“What does that even mean?”

“People don’t want something anymore. Like they got a newer one, or they don’t use it, or clothes that are too small since they grew. They donate them to a second-hand store and the second-hand store sells them.”

“So, you buy other people’s junk?”

“Absolutely, if you consider the whole series of Bear’s Tooth junk. Plus, I can watch it anytime I want, and as many times as I want!”

“Can I watch it with you?”

“Sure!”

“Let’s go!”

“What about the tickets?”

“I’d rather watch Bear’s Tooth than go to a stupid game just in case Ray was there!”

“You know… I know Ray pretty well; he loved Bear’s Tooth…”

“Let’s go see if we can find him!”

It turned out to be a lovely weekend after all.
