And So, It Goes “Did you see that!?” John whispered, loudly. “What?” asked Jack. “The shadow that just went by!” “Shadow?” “Yeah, it looked like a dinosaur!” “You mean big?” “No, it was the exact shape as a dinosaur, only small.” “A small dinosaur…? Aren’t dinosaurs as big as a house?” “Some. Others were little, like wild animals now, some big, some little.” “So, you saw the shadow of a little dinosaur…? You’re imagining things.” “No, I saw it!” “Where?” “That window,” he pointed to the back window of the garage.” “That’s pretty high, are you sure it was a small dinosaur?” “Don’t be silly. If it was big dinosaur, it would be blocking the window…” “Oh yes, I’m being silly because the window is too high for a little dinosaur to look into, but there it was?” “I guess…” John said, now sounding a bit confused. Not wanting John to feel bad, Jack added, “Maybe it was a bird? Maybe a squirrel? Something that had a dinosaur shape?” “No, it was a dinosaur…” said Jack, but obviously feeling uncomfortable now. Jack looked at his brother, he didn’t want him to feel bad but didn’t know what to do. Thinking quickly, he said, “Let’s go out there and see if he left some tracks!!” John immediately perked up. Out they went. Turning the corner, there was their sister Kana, standing on a stool, holding her dinosaur stuffy toy and trying hard not to laugh. “Got ya!” she said, jumping down and running away. “You have a good eye brother!” Jack said, “Maybe you’ll grow up to be an explorer!” Kana also flourished. Going on an exploration trip with John, she met a very wealthy guy, who loved to explore. Jack on the other hand, grew up to be a therapist. And so it goes. |
