Manipulation backfires. Has the narrator learned, or found a new target?
Lucas Moore's Diary

Day 1
One’s brain wanders. It can’t possibly be hard to think. One hopes that Clara may one day think, think, think.

Day 5
This is not enough to dream. Perhaps one’s guidance may help, for one only wants to preserve the beautiful mind of such a beloved creature. But what if they don’t listen? I mean, Clara is pig-headed. Perhaps a little push may help her see.

Day 10
Just what more there could be to do. One is interested, honestly. How might one push Clara to the brink? I have my doubts, but it’s not enough to halt.

Day 15
One is interested in how she may react. One will push one’s plan forth once and for all. But just allow it once more. Allow me to think, allow me to think, think, think, think.

Day 20
Perhaps it was always better to leave it alone. She may have had time to think on her own. One is now all alone. Perhaps one pushed too hard, or perhaps the push was the problem. One should’ve let Clara think alone.

Day 30
One knows why Clara hasn’t called. One wonders if one should wonder at all. One ruminates. Maybe one was wrong. One should apologize once and for all.

Day 45
One knows one got what one deserves. Manipulation—a devil’s curve. Clara did not accept one’s apology, but one has learned something from their despair and found a new friend named Becky McClaire. Now I know just what to do. I’ll just let her think, think, think.
