a brief poem trying to explain "I don't know what."
Safe

Even the weed defeats concrete
And surely a flower can fly
Avoiding the weightless despair
A glorious sight for the sky

All trampled upon in beauty
They will not be confined for long
Their fate, the heel that is worn
Insistent, they rise with the dawn

Many obstacles rush downhill
Gravity drawing them nearer
Of all the things to want to have
The love of a friend is most dear

A hand held out against all odds
Who would risk the scorn and the rage?
Only a weed with tendrils deep
Keeping us safe in this age
