This is a poem about anti colonialism

To make a new world from the backdrop they see,
Invaders push out a vibrant world and ignore their plea,
Burn down each village and blooming tree,
Few survive, but can't thrive,
Like their not living, but they're alive,
It's like uprooting a tree from the rich ground,
Steal it from the sunlight and hide it so it's never found,
It hurts, but you can't hear the sound,
Unless...
You listen carefully to the stories they have to share,
Open your mind, eyes and ears,
To the billions of shed and unshed tears,
And nightmares filled with a thousand fears,
Open your mind, ears and eyes,
To a troubled past and dark years,
Open your eyes, ears and mind,
To a culture, a people, a language, and a thousand million wonders to find
