What might have been after in Tolkien Lore

Unfinished Sagas in the age of men
Would Sauron have regained form
Or Morgoth ridden the great storm:
Perhaps Sauraman spoken from death?

Were ents hidden in dark dells,
Craft perverted from the elves?
How could blood of Numenor interact?
Rings of power or other artifacts?

The second age it did slowly fade
Up rose a secret darkened shade.
Blue Wizards or orcish clan
What black heart marred the land?

Gone were the great lords who knew-
Past Aragorn and scholars few
Into a time, long fortold
Whispering shadows and creeping cold.

Thirteen pages an old tale.
Whose song would prevail?
Desperate cries upon the waves
Bitter hatred and deep caves.
