A heartfelt English poem about emotions, silence, pain, and unspoken hope. |
In your eyes, there is an incomplete, silent hope. It makes me want to keep looking at you… These eyes speak of age, yet hide the pain. They neither weep nor complain, As if they’ve buried all sorrow deep within. They’ve learned to live by ignoring the pain, Still wear a smile — as if nothing ever broke. In your eyes, there is an incomplete, silent hope. It makes me want to just keep looking at you… The layers of pain are such, That even pain now appears childlike. It has cried so many times, Now finds comfort in its own tears. Soothes itself with its own shadow, And still dares to stand again. It fights with itself and pretends to smile. In your eyes, there is an incomplete, silent hope. It makes me want to just keep looking at you… Since the day these eyes saw their loved ones slowly fade away, Even soft silken words now feel heavy. A falling flower from its stem pierces the heart. To see loved ones grow distant feels like being separated from the self. These eyes constantly battle their own soul. In your eyes, there is an incomplete, silent hope. It makes me want to just keep looking at you… These eyes sometimes give themselves courage, Then nurture hopes of retrieving what’s lost — As if the past will return like a dream come true. Always clinging to a half-written dream. These eyes play a painful game — They mask sorrow behind a smile. And even when they understand the truth, They choose to pretend. In your eyes, there is an incomplete, silent hope. It makes me want to just keep looking at you… — Ashish Kumar Singh |
