Anne is trying to learn to make her bed. Would her mother be successful in teaching how?

"Time to make your bed now. You will be doing it Anne girl," I said in a sweet voice. I had all the sheets and blankets laid out for her to use.

"Okay mommy. I'll start with this blanket first," Anne replied confidently.

"There is a certain way to make the bed. Starting out with the blanket isn't right. It starts with the sheets first. Blankets go last. Now, pick out the sheet you want to use first."

"Okay, this one then."

"Not quite. It is the other sheet that goes on first. The one that has elastic in it."

"This one then."

Anne picked up the right sheet and started putting it on the bed. She had the length be the width and the width to be the length. I groaned. This was going to be harder than I thought.

"Turn it around so the length matches the length of the bed and the width fits the bed. The corners goes this way, down to the bottom of the mattress. There, like that." I smiled.

"No wonder it didn't fit." Anne continued to pull the corners over the corners of the mattress.

"I didn't say it was going to be easy. Now, the next sheet goes on top of that sheet."

Anne took out the next sheet and started out with the same problem again. Only she caught it and fixed it. Pleased, she started putting the blankets on. The lighter ones went on top of the sheet and the heavier one went on top. Then she took the pillows and threw them at the top where her head went.

"It would look nicer if you organized the pillows. Like this way," I said, organizing the pillows so it would look nice.

"Okay, let me try now," Anne said.

Anne picked up the pillows from the floor and mimicked my style. The larger pillows went first. Then the smaller pillows went second. Now she was done making her bed. It looked all ready to go for the night when night came.

"Good job. Now, you want ice cream with your breakfast?" I encouraged her.

"Yes, please," she replied.
