Act 10 [Costume Parade] Today is the town's annual festival. The neighboring city of Uji also has a festival called the Agata Festival, Agata Shrine is located just southwest of Byodo-in Temple. The shrine's deity, Konohanasakuyahime-no-mikoto, is revered as the guardian deity of good relationships and safe childbirth.The Agata Festival, which takes place every year from June 5th to the early hours of the 6th, is the largest festival in Uji, with stalls lined up in the streets from around noon and over 100,000 people attending. In particular, the Bonten Togyo festival held late at night on the 5th is also known as the "Strange Festival of the Dark Night"because all lights from surrounding shops and houses are prohibited and the festival is held in the dark. Although not as big as the Kenmatsuri in Uji City, Ujitawara Town also has a festival where people carry a portable shrine and pray for a good harvest of tea, rice, wild vegetables, mushrooms, etc. At the front of the parade are young men carrying the shrine, followed by the tea-picking bunny girls, and the best part is the parade through the town with everyone in costume. Any costume is OK, from grandfathers and grandmothers to children. It's like Halloween, with a tea-picking fundoshi and an old man wearing a happi coat, a Hyottoko doll, an old man wearing a okame mask, a man in a wedding dress, an old woman in a crested hakama, and a guy dressed as a maid cafe employee; it's just crazy. Everyone on the baseball team also comes up with their own ideas and dresses up as they like. Center fielder Makoto was dressed as a cowboy. He seems to like western movies."I really like Clint Eastwood. He's cool.""Kurikinton! Gen-san was wearing a Hanshin Tigers uniform and a flag on his back saying"We won the Central League"and "We're the best in Japan." Gantan's mother Tora-san was dressed as a cheerleader for the Tea Picking Bunny Girls. Behind the cheerleaders, the Tea Picking Bunny Girls carried drums and flutes (Pee-hara-don-do-ko-don♪). Tomo-chan, the mother, was wearing a borrowed national costume worn by a Singapore Airlines cabin attendant that Natsu-san had bought on a trip to Singapore with Ken a long time ago."Attention please!" Tomo-chan, with her amazing figure, posed as everyone whistled. A lively parade of over 100 people in costume slowly marched through the town with the mikoshi, and the festival drew to a lonely close in the evening.

今日は1年に1回の町のお祭りです。

隣の宇治市でも縣（あがた）祭りという祭りがあり、

平等院のすぐ南西に位置するあがた神社。

御祭神である木花開耶姫命このはなさくやひめのみことは、良縁、安産の守護神として敬われている。

毎年6月5日から6日未明にかけ行われるあがた祭は、昼ごろから通りにびっしり露店が並び、10万人を超える人出で賑わう宇治最大の祭。

特に5日深夜の「梵天渡御ぼんてんとぎょ」は、周りの商店や家の燈火が一切禁ぜられ、暗闇の中で執り行われる為、別名「暗夜の奇祭」としても有名である。

宇治市の縣祭程ではないが、宇治田原町でも神輿を担いでお茶や、お米、山菜、きのこ等の豊作を願ってのお祭りがある。

先頭に神輿を担ぐ若い男衆、茶摘みバニーガールズも続き、極めつけは町の皆んなが仮装して町中をパレードする。

おじいさん、おばあさん、子供まで、どんな仮装でもOKだ。

ハロウインの様で、茶摘みフンドシにはっぴのオジサン、ヒョットコ、オカメの面を被ったおじいさん,花嫁衣装を着た男に紋付き袴のおばさん、メイドカフェの格好をしたお兄ちゃん、もうめちゃくちゃだ。

野球チームの皆んなもそれぞれアイデアを出して好きな格好をしている。

１番センター誠、カウボーイの仮装をしていた。西部劇が好きらしい

「俺なあ、クリントイーストウッドメッチャ好きやねん

カッコええねんで、」

「栗きんとん!何やそれ?」

「クリントイーストウッドや知らんの?」

「メッチャ早打ちなんやで、正義の味方やで悪党をやっつけるんや」

「シトシトピッチャンの木枯し紋次郎みたいなもんか?」

「アホか!シトシトピッチャンは、子連れ狼や、木枯し紋次郎とちゃうで!」

「そうか、なんか分からんけどカッコええねんな。」

２番レフトたけし、バスガールの仮装をしていた。何処から借りて来たのかハイヒールを剥いて歩きにくそうだ。

「なんやそのカッコウは?」

「発車オーライ!」

「何やて、何言うてんの?」

「発車オーライ!無賃乗車はあかんよ」

「もうええわ!」

3番サード凛太郎、頭から、要らなくなったニッセイのソフトクリームのプラスチック看板にバニラの部分をスプレーで緑に塗った抹茶ソフトの看板を加工して被っていた。

「さすが商売熱心なやっちゃな!」

「抹茶アイスいかーすか!」

4番キャッチャー元旦、頭に鉢巻き、腹巻き、青いハッピ、赤いズボンと地下足袋下大工道具の空箱を肩にかつぎパチンコ初代、大工の源さんの真似をしている。

皆んな家の商売を宣伝している様だ。

「よう、棟梁!いなせやな」

「ヤナセ?お父ちゃんの車、外車ちゃうで、タウンエースと軽トラや」

「アホか、カッコええなって言ってるんや!」

5番ファーストてっちゃん、お父さんは交番の巡査さん。

てっちゃんは、お巡りさんのコスプレをしていた。

「チャリンコの2人乗りあかんよ、逮捕するぞ!」

「何やそれ」

「万引きはあかんで、逮捕するぞ!」

6番ショート雅也、相撲が大好きで、裸でまわしを着けて

「ドスコイ、ハクション！」

「まだ寒いのにようやるわ」

「ドスコイ、ハッハクション！ごっつあんです」

７番セカンドマーちゃん　チェッカーズが大好きで、真っ赤なタータンチェックのステージ衣装を着て手にはおじいちゃんがドン・キホーテで12回のローンで買ったホームカラオケのマイクを片手にギザギザハートの子守歌を歌いながら歩いてる。

「皆んなどうかしとる。ついて行けへんわ」

8番ライト赤星ちゃん、小柄だけど足だけは速い。

レッドスターと、呼ばれるが野球のルールは全くわからない。最初にバントすると3塁方向に走ったり、前の走者を追い越したり、願いは１つ

「どうか僕の所にボール飛んでも来ないで～」

赤星ちゃんは、なぜかタキシードを着て指揮棒を持っている。

「何やそれ」

「僕チャイコフスキーやねん」

「ちゃ、チャイ、お茶が好きなんか?スキーなら僕得意やで!」

「クラシックの作曲家やヴァイオリン協奏曲知らんの?」

「プラスチック?バイオシン、ああ、NHKの朝ドラやな」

元旦には何を言っても通じない。

赤星ちゃんは、ぴ~ヒャララ、茶摘みバニーガールズのドンドコドンの音に合わせて指揮棒を振って歩いてる。

9番ピッチャー球児、ハエも止まるスローボールしか投げられない。

球威が無いのでホームベース手前で失速する。

「見たか僕のフォークボール」

「アホかキャッチャーに届かずワンバウンドしとるやないか」

球児は鉢巻きをして、イタ前の格好をしていた。

「僕、寿司屋のイタ前になるねん!」

「何でイタ前やのん」

「スシローのサーモンづくしとマグロ三昧、最高に美味しいねん」

「なんでやねん、イタ前にならんでも食べに行けるやん」

「そら、そうやな」

「ようやるわ、やってられへんわ」

「このチームは、一生勝たれへんわ」ハピは、確信した。

「そう言うハピは、何でそんなバレリーナの仮装してんの?」

「プリマドンナよ」

「プリンアラモードの親戚か?」

「なんでも食べ物に持って行くんやな～」

「アッ知ってる、白鳥の湖やろ、志村ケンやな」

「トゥシューズで、すね蹴ったろか!」

元旦はハピから離れる様に逃げた。

ハピは、クルクルとバレエを踊りながら歩いて行った。

モニちゃんは、家族で韓国に住んでいた頃テコンドーを習っていた。

白い武道着にピンクの帯をして、

「テッコンドー!」とパンチや足蹴りをしながら歩いてる。

元さんは阪神タイガースのユニフォームを着て背中にセ・リーグ制覇、日本一胴上バンザイの、のぼりを背に着けていた。

元旦のお母ちゃんの寅さんは、そのまんま茶摘みバニーガールズのチアリーダーの格好です。チアリーダーの後を茶摘みバニーガールズの仲間が太鼓と笛を持って（ピーヒャラドンドコドン♪）

お母ちゃんの朋ちゃんは夏さんが昔ケンさんと行ったシンガポール旅行先で買ったシンガポール航空のキャビンアテンダントが、着ている民族衣装を借りて着ていた。

「アテンションプリーズ!」スタイル抜群で皆んなひゅ~ひゅ~と口笛をならすと朋ちゃんはポーズをとっていた。

総勢100人以上もの仮装した賑やかなパレードが神輿とともに町をゆっくりと練り歩き、夕方お祭りは、寂しく幕を閉じた。
