Villanelle about philosophy of death

There need be no real dying of the light.
While some may claim cold blindness, lost in gray,
Alone and screaming, crying in the night;

And though they feel abandoned in their right,
cast out, we find their dance is but delayed:
There need be no real dying of the light.

To those that cannot help but lose the fight--
the children, desp'rate sinking souls at bay
alone and screaming, crying in the night--

give for them stronger hearts to hold: though slight
the rays of sun and thick clouds, still it's day:
There need be no real dying of the light.

Reaching arms be not shunned! Who shall hold tight
the weeping wailing victim of today
alone and screaming, crying in the night;

Now we hope this paled truth, through faded sight,
still shines calm crystal starlight on our way:
There need be no real dying of the light
Alone and screaming, crying in the night.
