Daily 6/27/2025 - 3rd poem - About Death.

A little water beetle family live at the stem of a lily.

Imagine under water a little water beetle city?

They live productive lives and the little ones play.

Every now and then one decides it wants to go away.

The other beetles tell it his decision's aren't that great.

They all knew every other beetle who lefts fate.

The beetle just can't help it has to venture up the stem.

He packs his little bag and says good bye to his family & friends.

He tells them not to worry or to allow their hearts to burn.

Promises once he sees what's at the top he will return.

They look at him with sadness and tears in their little eyes.

Every beetle who climbs up the stem never come back they die.

He climbs it anyway and makes it almost to the top.

By the time he gets there he is tired, never felt sun before it's hot.

He lays there for a slumber wakes up later to birds that sing.

Can't believe his eyes when he sees to that he has wings.

Couldn't go back in the water to tell the beetles not to cry.

He turned into a dragonfly and surly did not die.

He was flying around seeing things and having so much fun.

Returns to the pond everyday to see if his friends life had begun.

I read this dragonfly story and turned it into a poem. The original author of the story is unknown.
