Daisy saw a message in the sky after days of mundane work. |
Daisy sighed and rolled her eyes. This was the tenth year now that she had done the same thing over and over. Her job remained the same. Her news was no different. The same things happened over and over and she was growing tired. Maybe tired wasn't the right word to use. Shoulders hunched, she pressed forward. She thought of the prices rising yet had no pay raise for a few years now. Then she looked up into the sky. Clouds moved on their own accord against the blue sky. Then she squinted. The words "Revolution starts now" made an appearance in perfect writing. She sighed, wishing that were true. But what did she want really? She didn't know the answer to that. That was something she longed to know an answer for. The words were magical but didn't mean anything. She wished things were different and that she could take a break. There was no break. Everything was the same. "Hey Flower! How is it going?" a familiar voice resounded in the distance. "Hey Buttercup! Aren't you supposed to be working by now?" Daisy responded. "Yes, except for one thing. The whole factory is shut down. There is nobody there. We can't work without the technicians. And the aliens and dragons have been freed." "Wait, so the aliens and dragons escaped from the factory? But, how?" "I don't know. We must go to the headquarters and find out." Daisy followed Buttercup along the main streets. She knew her friend couldn't be lying. What she couldn't figure out was where all the aliens and dragons went. Her father was an alien in disguise and her mother was a dragon in disguise. She had all of their powers. Yet she was in disguise too. A hybrid. The wild aliens and dragons were getting caught and taken to factories to work. Something she wanted changed. The wild ones grew fewer and fewer as more became tamed and everything passed down from generation to generation. She thought about this as they came near the headquarters. Suddenly everyone was there holding signs of protest. Equal rights for all. Then Daisy had a thought. An answer to her missing side. Not only could she stand up for equal rights, she could fight for freedom of aliens and dragons too. All in disguise.
