Word Count-285{{/size} Who Did It? Leo loved his backyard. It was an acre of beauty. The very back of the lot was lined with trees. There were oak trees, maple trees, chestnut trees and evergreens. The trees thinned out in the middle and that's where he put the pool. Thirty-three feet wide and four feet deep filled with cool, wonderful water. At the front of the lot sits the house, just behind it, two large oak trees separated by a deck. He sat behind his house and looked out at the pool. This was wonderful. His neighbor was coming over to tryout the hammocks. Soon they were in the shade picking which hammock they would claim. Fountains and small waterways made enticing sounds. They decided to take a nap in the hammocks and before long they were lulled to sleep by the bubbling of a nearby fountain. Jack woke when an acorn fell with the force of a high velocity round and smacked him in the middle of the forehead. "Why did you do that?" Jack yelled, waking Leo "Do what?" "Throw that." "What are you talking about? I didn't throw anything." Leo said. "You hit me with something," Jack claimed, rubbing the red spot on his forehead. "I'm telling you; it wasn't me." "You did it. It had to be you." "I didn't do it." In the tree about forty feet above Jack's head three squirrels looked down from the limb they were on, "Melvin, you dropped it, so you have to go get it." "I don't know, that one with the really hard head looks mad." "Melvin, you dropped it, you get it," they turned to leave. "Wait, can I get a mulligan?" |
