Friends, this story is themed on my life. Hope you like it. |
| Dear children, welcome. I am happy to bring a new story for you today. Once there was a young boy, Ramesh, living in a small town. His residence was a single-storied house with a terrace reachable by a flight of stairs. The boy adored Mother Nature; he was especially fond of flowers. With the help of his parents, he had gradually built a lovely garden of potted plants on his terrace. Most of them were perennial flowering plants, such as the vibrant purple Bougainvillea and the bright red Ixora. The splashes of their colours made this garden a joy to behold! Ramesh took pride in his garden; he loved each plant like a member of his own family. That's why he couldn't wait to rush off to his terrace after returning from school in the evening, despite his mother's daily scolding. He would spend the next couple of hours lost in the joy of gardening: watering, tilling, fertilising, and other essential activities. To you and me, these tasks may seem like chores, but to this young nature lover, they were the best part of his day. One Monday evening, Ramesh was climbing to his terrace with a big packet of compost in his hands. As he mentally decided which plants to fertilize, he almost reached the terrace when his feet suddenly stopped. It was the humble staircase that had arrested his attention! Now, Ramesh must have climbed up and down this cemented structure countless times. But on that winter evening, the humble staircase showed itself to him in a new light. He realised, with a start, that he could create and cultivate his beloved garden every day only because of his staircase. Without a doubt, it was a silent, yet vital partner in his gardening success. Yes! He stood still as he began to grasp this daily "magic of the mundane." Children, so, before I go, I request you to do one thing. In your house, there are many things that you use daily. An example could be the bed which gives you a refreshing sleep every night. You most likely take their presence for granted. Please take a fresh look at them right now with thankful eyes. I guarantee that you'll come to feel appreciation for the contribution of these "ordinary" things in making your day-to-day life possible. See you soon, dears. Goodbye, and God bless. |
