An Excellent Rectangle

Boarding school. Never leave the property. Entire campus is a rectangle. Commissary, theater, etc. upon graduation, unprepared for the world.

~Intro. Talk about the campus. Size.

~it looked like the biggest English garden ever seen, or an old feudal estate. A half-mile on the end and a mile in with, there was nothing the campus didn't provide. The classrooms were sprawled across the southern end almost haphazardly, gently rolling know forming a landscape around and between them. There were six buildings in total: three for kindergartners through fifth grade, two for children in sixth through eighth grade, and one for the "young gentlemen," this on month to twelfth grade.

~The pattern was that almost one third of every young group, because of grades, behavior, or lack of money, was withdrawn before sixth grade; and half out them washed out of were pulled out before the high school years.

+Rellington Preperatory Academy was the most prestigous boarding school in the northern states. In an era of slovenly public school students, Rellington promoted, through rigor and tradition, self-respect, team reliance, and institutional exclusivity.

Graduate submits a job application
Exposition: he feels like this is a safe job
He is confident and eager and feel prepared for this
At the end, we find out he is appointment for a position at the boarding school, back behind the safe walls
