New Surroundings

Life at the moment

Exposed brick and stained glass windows
New appliances and old wood fireplace
Concrete patio and grassy courtyard

New but not unfamiliar
Close but far from childhood
Comforting and scary all at once

To have a home is an unfamiliar feeling to me
To have a place where I can escape and not need escape from
To have a love that is warm and unconditional

It's hard to accept
My body is still fighting against it
Trying to ruin what is lovely for the comfort of pain

I don't want to
But I don't know how to stop it
I like this place and I love you

I hope for this to be my new comfort
To accept this as my home
To be home to be with you
