I Love This Drink |
| TUBA Tuba is a Cebuano Word for a Coconut Wine. I love the freshly gathered Tuba the one with the creamy colored without the artificial red coloring . When I was a child, Papa and Mama always gave me a small cup of it to cure my Anemia and it worked for me. I became active and enjoyed swimming with my brothers and cousins again without fainting. Our Papa used to have coconut trees and let some of our relatives made it for Tuba source and our relatives delivered Tuba by galloons at our home everyday We never ran out of it as well as we have plenty of Tuba vinegar that Mama sold at her store beside our house . When I went to college I never drank Tuba for years. Then I got a job in the city and the more I had no chance to drink it. When I got married and living in the city, every time my husband, our daughter and me visited the province at home , Papa and Mama saw to it that there's always a freshly gathered Sweet Tuba after lunch for me to drink as well as to enjoy. My husband loves the taste of it. but drinks only a little. Then living years in the city, our village eventually became a tourist attractions and buildings or resorts and many establishments were being constructed cutting all those coconut trees... I had never drank Tuba again for two decades. My husband busy with the VHF radio Rescue Group makes friends of the radio Enthusiasts at the whole town and many of these men visits our home to see his radio communications that they were amazed my husband can reached all the islands of our country. My husband's business in his younger days was installing his original radio Antennae that he designed himself. His customers were Mayors, Parish Priests and many business establishments owners. That was before the Cellphone was very famous. Surely get makes the best Antennae for his own use One of the Radio Group men who visited us asked my husband, if my father was the village ChiefMau who died in 2012. My husband always introduced me to his visitors. My husband told him, Yes. he's her late father. Then , he told my husband if he can talk to me.My husband agreed. The young man in his mid 20s told me, Your father was a great man. He's the friend of my father.. We live in the third village from the town. and introduced his name. Hearing his family name I asked him. " How are you related to my High School Classmate, Basilides ? " He was surprised. " You know her ? She's my aunt ". I told him Small world. He asked my husband if he drinks TUBA. My husband laughed and said." I drink but only a very little. My wife loves TUBA and she's looking and had been asking where to buy it ? " He smiled and said " Wow, I will comeback tomorrow and bring some gallons of TUBA " and brought two gallons the following day. A galloon of Tuba and a gallon of Vinegar, to my delight. From that time on, we always have TUBA and vinegar at home. God surely provides. Thank You Lord for Everything. .. |
