A few short poems or thoughts from the archives of my notes app (2025).

Poetry isn't just about saying what you feel.
Poetry is about making someone else feel it, too.

-
I am growing in an endlessly suffocating sky
of other people's opinions.
I know you can save me,
but will you?

-
It's been seven years of you fostering,
and now I am going away.
I can't tell if I am happier to leave
than I would be to stay.
I'm sorry, Mama, I'm proud of what you do.
But I don't think it's realistic that I could do it, too.

-
I love you immensely more than I did when we met,
And I know I'll miss you more than anyone i've ever known
Yet I can't even show your face or say your name.

-
I am tired of living a life where obligation
removed the need for recognition,
but being so burnt out by obligation
I can't do anything by my own decision.

-
it's hard mourning something you've never had
Because God told you it's not your turn to have it yet.

-
I love very passionately.
Even the things that may seem small to you,
I love with the intensity of a thousand wildfires.

-
You ever think that maybe when we feel sad for no reason,
we're missing the people who would have been in our lives
at that time if they had not killed themselves?

-
If you think you need to be comfortable to find God,
then comfort is your God.
God is found in the uncomfortable, in the sticky, in the uncertain.
So, let's get messy.

-
I cannot comprehend how beautiful you are to me.
I love to see you,
Know you,
Be with you.
Life feels so much less overwhelming
When I see you smile.
