It helps me count my blessings when I'm feeling down. Hope it does the same for you. |
Life is always in a rush, Busy and loud but never hush. Can we all take just a second, And look at the simple joys, I recommend it. The freedom of dancing, The joy of singing. Music from my boom box, Sound of a CD, new or old. Soft sound of a piano, Or the delicate touch of it’s keys. The touch of the strings of my guitar, All six strung to please. The singing of the birds, Along with the morning sunrise. Words on a page, Either another’s or mine. Feeling my pen across my paper, The satisfaction of a finished story. A busy room with a lot of noise, A quiet room, peaceful and calm, Or just mine, all alone. Freshly fallen snow, still untouched. The sun glittering on a calm lake, Or shining through the trees. The laughter of friends and strangers, The giggling of children. The peaceful roll of the ocean blue, Along with the warm sand; who knew, Laying on the softness of the grass, Feeling it tickling your back. The smell after a fresh shower, Helping to grow many a flower. The sky shining on a serene night. Gentle scent of grass, freshly cut back. The warmth of a fresh spring day, Or night, clear and bright. The aroma of the cookies of Christmas. Dancing flame of a candle, Followed by the floating smoke Of a candle just gone out. And lastly, of course, The tranquil pages of my life, Frozen for a time in my journal. |
