(Did you know that the Koyukon Athabasean Alaskan Native language has no word for 'good~bye'? Maybe this is how we should all be.... and never say good~bye.... only 'see you later'.)
-------------------------------------------------
The memories in our lives are like
all the colorful leaves that float slowly
to the ground, sometimes swirling around
and around in our mind as it falls.
Sometimes the winds of time lift fallen
leaves and send them swirling around
again and we remember past memories
viewing the colors that time has faded.
When we get older we can look
back at the memories as a pile
of leaves and think about how
much fun and heartache we had.
Or we could just jump in and have a grand
time tossing them into the air for the
wind to slowly swirl to the ground again
and make a pile for another day.
