When my first love left to join the Air Force.
Remembering: A Christmas Message

I’m remembering all the days gone by
With quiet thoughts.
I’m remembering the times we played alone
With Mother Nature surrounding us.

Summertime is a joyous time
For two people as content as we.
Days full of each other’s thoughts
Carefree.

Autumn soon pushed the summer days
Into our memory.
And as the leaves change, so do we
Although, we don’t want to.

Our love is growing and disappearing
Into the routine of daily life.
The love that was perfect is giving way
To a love we don’t understand ~ but enjoy.

Now the time is running out
For two kids who enjoy each other.
Soon the time comes when you must leave
Alone, without me.

So now at Christmas, let us be
In each other’s arms.
And let us stay in these arms
Indefinitely ~ until you go.
