Life is really too short
So why hurry it along?
Slow down, my friend -

The overdose you took yesterday.
Was not the thing to do -
You didn't end your life
Just wound up in ICU.

It isn't any fun at all
To have them use a stomach pump;
There are too many ways to die
Why bother with that jump?

Of course you're hurting!
It's part of life, my friend -
Seasons come and seasons go
See it through to the end!

You can change the way you live
and find somebody new -
There is so much good in the world
Finding it - is up to YOU!

Oh, yes - it's almost over;
No more pain or tears to shed;
Of course you'll leave your family
Who needs you ALIVE, not dead.

God gives us each a choice,
To be happy or to be sad -
He gives us each the chance to know
What's good and what is bad.

Suicide is NOT an answer -
So keep your self in touch
With all the folks who need you
And love you very much.

There is still a chance for laughter
And for walking in the clover -
Life is oh, so short, my friend;
And it is almost over!

So live each day with faith and hope
That things will turn out right;
The attempt you made to end it is wrong!
