True then, that many a poet has devoted his full
attention to the concept and notion of love. i say they
missed out on quite alot (perhaps a more productive
life, rather than pondering on the still unsolved mystery
of love), but who am i to judge? Love is something
innocent, yes, and as many people would agree,
"you're only ever innocent once". i have been promised
the skies, and have promised them myself. i have done
the undoable and have reached for the unreachable.
all that any of this has taught me is "wishingful thinking
is thinking without fulfilling". i guess what i am trying to
say is that i do not deny my naive nature, and yes in
many cases it was neglected love that drove me to
writing in the manner which i wrote. Yet, i am not
reluctant to admit that "love" was my companion
throughout all of this; it was my muse.
i am not done with poetry, and to be honest i have not
begun. this is but a sip of Turkish coffee that tasted so
bad at first but i learned to love over these past months.
i choose to refer to the time span in months rather than
years because i am not a person who has sincerely
spent "years" writing poetry. i would only be flattering
myself, which in any case would be wrong of me to do.
i am a dreamer, yes, but in my dreaming i am honest. i
may be an idealist, yes, but in my idealism i see my
own faults. let it not go unsaid that i am a selfish man
who was concerned with the matters of his heart and
his heart alone. for that is justly the case. i am a young
man with much of his own problems to dwell upon, and
this dwelling is what drove me away from people and
towards my 'self'. Much of my poetry here is not of any
particular category, however, many poets that i admire
have also influenced much of it. Please read on and
you shall see remnants of a youthful lover who settled
recklessly in his thoughts. i have compiled this
assortment of poems from my different phases during
my "thoughtful months" and thought it appropriate to
expose them now. This chapter shall remain open for i
am still living, and still thinking.
