Through the laughter frowns can be heard
As tears feel sighs seen only by the heart.
Hands reach roughly for tender mists
Of empty memories moving rapidly
Into distant dreams, never to return.
Left are ghostly grins glimpsed
Through shifting shadows.
Life without substance, without hope,
Ends the search without direction.
