Where has grampa gone, Mommy?
Mommy, where's gramps?
He said we'd play.
Where is he now,
This sunny day?

He said we'd fish,
Out on the lake,
He'd help me with
The yard! We'd rake!

He's gone, you say?
Where did he go?
We're supposed to
Hike! He said so!

We would stand near
The evergreen!
Where is the man
On who I lean?

Where did he go?
Why can't you say?
I thought we could
Go sail today.

He's gone away?
To where, please tell.
I hope he's fine,
He looked unwell.

A pretty place,
where he might stay?
Is it Kona,
Or Cocoa Bay?

To heaven, mom?
How could he go?
Please say you lie!
Please tell me no!

But I love him!
Why did God choose
Grampa so both
Of us could lose?

Now that he's gone,
So is my heart,
I cannot take
That we must part.

Why must He take
The person close,
Must it be gramps
As the guy God chose?

If gramps is gone,
Then so am I,
But I'll be strong,
And I won't cry.

Grampa told me,
Two days ago,
"If you feel down,
Don't let it show!

"Life's too short to
Live on the past.
God made life so,
And it won't last!

"And so, Timmy,
Live your own way,
Be wary of
What you might say.

"I'll see you there,
Next to the throne,
In skies where Gramps
Won't be alone.

"Love life, Timmy,
Don't hide it away,
Even off the
Beaten path stray.

"Be happy, be smart,
Be loving, free!
In Heaven, Tim,
I will see thee."
