For those whose love of language is brilliantly apparent in their work and wordcraft. |
I have decided that on some rare occasions, five stars just isn't enough to show my admiration for a beautifully crafted piece of writing. To those amazing pieces, I humbly present my "Love of Language" award in acknowledgment and celebration of your talent! - - - - - - - My first "Love of Language Award" goes to a poem that swept me away with dazzling imagery and evocative language.
2/7/03 - presented to a hilarious supremely-written monologue, unfortunately no longer valid as an item. 2-27-03: My first award given to a journal - an awesome, delicious, hilarious, in-the-pocket kind of amazing writing that's one-of-a-kind and guaranteed to be a page-clicker!
3/24/03 - a whole-folder award for some of the best no-words-wasted poetry I've seen on writing.com, or anywhere for that matter. I'm shocked it's not covered in awards already.
6/15/03 - Blew me away... I felt compelled to read it again and again!
3/13/04 - Okay, so I'm a Harlow Flick, Right Fielder groupie. What can I say? The guy is GOOD.
1/17/05 - As part of the Season Tickets raffle, I promised to review five items from the winner's port and award my favorite. Well, I found my favorite (so far!)...
5/4/05 - This is a continually-updated treasure chest of information on all the different poetry forms. Wow!
4/6/11 - This man's work is always from his heart, and I think this piece especially so....very well-written, almost self-deprecatingly so, with tongue in cheek at times, playful at others, and sometimes there's that glimpse of pain and love and raw emotion.
4/2/21 - So it's been TEN YEARS since I gave an award - I have been dormant here but am back! I love this poem....it contains all the elements of great poetry and captures moments so clearly, giving you such a complete picture.
