If I have turned my back on those in need,
if I have been hateful toward another,
if I have been selfish and full of greed,
if I could have been a better mother,
Father, I pray that You forgive me
and I know that You will.
You will hear my plea

If I have uttered something I regret,
if I have wandered and fell off track,
if I have gossiped about someone I met,
if I have been shoved and I pushed back,

If I have worried about a frivolous task,
if I have not always had the right thing to say,
if I have taken before I ask,
if I have been ungrateful in any way,

if I have overlooked something I should have taught,
if I have ever felt angry or sore,

Father, I know that you hear my prayer,
and You will not abandon or ignore.
I know that You are never unfair.
You will be waiting for me upon Your shore
with open arms forgiving my mistakes,
letting me start a life fresh and new,
erasing the pain of this world's aches.
You will take me into Heaven and I'll reside with You.
