CRAZY TRINITY Walking through the woods yesterday, I came upon three creatures odd, One a tiger, one a goat, One a farmer, he was poorly shod; All were sitting by a pond Looking at one another, The tiger, he wasn't growling, And the goat did never shudder. I gazed at them, surprised To see such a strange trinity, The farmer, he did approach me, And smiling, he said with brevity: 'I trained the goat to be brave and calm Before all creatures wild, And so it stands before this beast, As innocent as a child; 'The tiger, I brought him young, When all it had was milk - And as he grew to a size this big, Scared were animals of each and every ilk. 'The goat, it does face the Tiger With complete non-chalance, And so will I, their master and lord, I'll maintain emotional balance; 'Our unlike natures will let us see The glaring differences between us - And yet we'll live together, For comparisons are odious.' I came away considerably puzzled, But also fascinated, This trio was so unlikely And yet it so amalgamated! I bade them all goodbye, And went on on my way, While the threesome stood and watched, The lord, the predator and its prey. © Dr. Taher Kagalwala Written for Round 9 of
