Once I said it to my doctor,
When he asked me how I feel.
He laughed and said that I'd be fine,
As if I weren't for real.

Again I said it to my friend.
"Oh, everything will be okay."
I didn't add, I feel like dying,
For she'd already turned away.

I didn't say it to mom or dad,
For I don't want them to worry.
Nor did I say it to my siblings
'Cause they're always in a hurry.

"Emotionally flat" is what it means,
I think it's kinda clever.
For those who do not care to know
Will not discern it, ever.
