Our Precious Tomorrows

I awoke this morning
With a burning desire
To run to your arms
As my heart was on fire.

To melt into your deep emerald eyes,
To taste your kiss again on my lips,
To feel you gently caressing my skin,
These are some of the things that I miss.

Things we are learning now
Will strengthen our future lives.
Humility, patience, and understanding
Will make us a better husband and wife.

Days are going by so fast,
Yet time seems to stand still.
Will this assignment ever be over,
So our dreams we can finally fulfill?

Tomorrow, just as it did today,
A brand new day will dawn.
I'll awake, wanting you by my side,
But my heart will know you're still gone.

I know that you long for me as well.
Your words come across very clear.
Because of these endless days apart,
Our tomorrows we will hold more dear.

We focus on the day that we say our vows.
Becoming one before God and man.
To be together forever and always,
We humbly await that part of His plan.
