         “Hey lady! You gonna eat me or what?”

         I gasped, eyes wide with astonishment, as the dark chocolate candy bar I was trying to resist suddenly jumped up and began speaking.

         “You’ve been staring at me for twenty minutes,” it said as it strutted across my kitchen counter. “Look at me. You know you want me. My chocolaty physique, so smooth and creamy. You know I’ll just melt in your mouth. C’mon, take a bite!”

         “No!” I shook my head firmly. I gave up junk food for New Year’s, and I’m not going to give in to temptation.

         "Oh yea!" Suddenly the candy bar pounced, landing right on my face!

         Within seconds it had wedged one of its tasty corners between my lips, prying my mouth slightly open. I tried to clench my jaw shut, but the candy managed to squeeze another corner between my teeth. I tugged at the free end of the candy bar, hoping to pull the renegade chocolate off my face, but I only succeeded in shoving the bar deeper into my watering mouth. Once inside, the candy twisted itself around my tongue, and forced me to swallow.

         Damn. There goes another New Year’s resolution.
