A Truant's Soliloquy

To stay or not to stay -- that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The misery and imprisonment of outrageous classes,

Or to fake ill against a sea of homework

And, by opposing, increase it. To leave, to skip --

No more -- and by skipping we mean only to go home to end

The lectures and reprimands

That students are heir to -- 'tis a sickness

Devoutly to be wished. To leave, to skip --

To skip, perchance to get caught. Ay, there's the rub,

For in the snares of punishment what fun can be had

When we are not allowed to see our friends

Must give us pause. There's the respect

That makes calamity of so long a school day.
