The moonlight shimmers off of the cool dark river,
The silence of the world around it,
The tranquility of a place devoid of chaos,
This is the place I wish to spend my last days,
Trapped in an eternity of peace,

My mind is free and wanders down the river,
Follows its every turn as it glides beneath the nights sky,
My finger traces the ripples of the water,
One day i'd like to flow with the gentle undercurrent,
Let it take me wherever it cares,

Tonight I reflect upon my life,
My emotion lies in the hidden depths of the water,
As I float there and feel the cool breeze,
Everything seems in balance with my soul,

I feel my head slip under as I reach inner peace,
The only sound now is shallow breathing,
I look up and see the moons glow still shining bright,
Despite the fading water I managed to smile.
