Raindrops batter the windscreen,
shattering on impact,
leaves dance in the violent wind,
a raging storm of silent chaos,
I see but cannot hear,
sense but cannot feel.
Skin draped from fleshless bones,
poverty and suffering: just words,
'remember' says my TV screen,
an anonomous voice,
"ten-thousand lives lost",
ten thousand miles away.
In my artificial cocoon,
I view life through a lense cap,
my life in photographs,
spapshots of fake plastic moments,
a walking, talking, smiling lie,
never falters, not for a moment,
when the dreams more real than reality,
and reality is so far away...
