A Fruitful Explaination

Me, myself and I are like a fruit filled basket
If not handled with care
Bumps and bruises we will share
Youth, still green, has needs to grow
Fruit and I each will ripen with age

Many grapes make a vat of wine
Weathered by rain and shine
Every season gives anew
In all the dirt where we have roots
We grow and blossem where we are sown

Plums, peaches, apples and pears
Grown, ripened, then once harvested
Share their bountiful fare
I eat, live, and love
On the offerings from the branches above

Berries, cherries, lemons, and limes make merry
Savored, each lingers and mingles
Fruits gathered from their vines and bushy bough
Commissioned into flavorful gifts, wonderful
Jellies, jams, and pies that add delight in every eye

Bananas, Pineapples, mangos and pomegranates
Colorful, tropical, and mystical add a taste of adventure
For myself, everywhere in this world
A basket brimming with various fruits
Encompasses the humanity of mankind

If every fruit bore witness
I am a fruit salad of abundant organic personality
Pleasant, wise, witty, kind and generous
Bold, soulful, and yet still rooted
A fantasist about all that grows
