A couple poems I wrote to kill time that don't rhyme.
I thought I'd give you a little background--
I've always felt that I had to hold up the reputations of my parents--a responsibility I take deathly seriously. This poem is basically my frustration about how hard I try, and yet---it never seems to be enough. In case you don't notice--I hate rhyming, so, it's not good in this one.

For those of you msising "I Wish"---I had to take it out to submit it for a scholarship.

"I'm Sorry"

I'm sorry I couldn't do it.
I'm sorry I couldn't be what you wanted
or what you thought i should be.
I'm sorry I'm me.

I'm sorry I can't make your dreams come true
I'm sorry I can't do something important--
Teach children to read or multiply, or help kids who
don't see.
I'm sorry I'm me.

I'm sorry I can't give you what you want.
I'm sorry I could never understand--
I don't know what you want me to be--
I just know it isn't me.

I'm sorry to fall short.
I'm sorry I can't be a perfect daughter--
pretty and smart and talented I'd be,
but Mama, Papa, that isn't me!

I'm sorry that my own happiness isn't good enough for
you.
I'm sorry all I've got is what I love to do--
acting is where I'll be.
I'm sorry you can't just accept me.
