I live in the perfect example of a perfect suburban society; i hate it. im trapped. |
People sitting in their identical little homes, Watching TV with their lawns nice and mowed, With their widescreen TVs and their telephones, It makes me sick, it makes me want to yell, What am i doing in this suburban hell? Suburbanite kids wanting all that they see, Consuming, consuming to fill all their needs, Hair straighteners, in-style clothes, makeup, money, It all makes me sick, it makes me want to yell, How did such a beautiful world turn into this hell? Vain Suburban mothers with their model homes, Expensive sofas, couch pillows lined in a row, Backstabbing soccer moms, if you have a secret, everyone knows, It makes me so sick! it makes me want to yell, Don't leave me here in this suburban hell! The working men and women, they know. Wasteing their lives away while their youthful spirits slowly rot, So much responsibility! taxes, bills, reports to show, I know i will someday too, and it makes me want to yell, Get me out of this suburban hell! They're so blinded by the flashing lights and the ads on TV, They think material items are what make them happy, They're too blinded, lost, overwhelmed, to see, That all you need in life to be truly happy, Is just to be. |
