A few lines all golfers will understand
A SCOTTISH LEGACY

A game of tears, a game of sighs
A game of anger, oaths and cries,
A game bemoaning missed short putts
And cursing all bad lies

A game that's played with stick and ball
Loved or hated by one and all
A game to lift, make you feel tall
More likely make you squirm and crawl

With greens and fairways, bunkers, tees
The rough, the water, the constant breeze,
They get together and you they tease
Combine to bring you to your knees

But once in a while, just now and then,
When deep depression is well set in,
And you'll never play this game again
It opens its doors and lets you in.

To a wondrous world where you cant do wrong
Wher your eye is keen, your swing is strong
With putts and chipping right on song
Plus woods and irons hit straight and long

But alas alas you nere can stay
You must leave now, please go away
Crash down to earth, return to play
This mystic game your normal way

The bubble's burst and you slide down
From whence you came where you're a clown
From winsome smile to static frown
Your golden touch has just left town

Now the whole world knows from whence it came
This remarkably blissful vexing game
In northerly climes it first found fame
Midst the sandy dunes of its Scottish hame.
