It's not my best work, but I felt like posting it. |
Why does the owl cry into the night? He cries for his lost love, Seeking the one that stole her away. Crying out, “WHO? WHO?”, Screeching, calling, crying into the night. Seeking retribution on the one that stole her away. He stands under the streetlight, Awaiting her arrival. She never shows up. Instead, his best friend's Ferrari speeds passed, With her perched contently on the front seat. Gathering his resources, He begins the hunt. He scoops up his wallet and car keys, And saves the 9 mm. for last. He searches, asks around, Finally he finds it, Parked in front of the diner. He encroaches upon his prey, Trying not to bring any attention. He swoops down swiftly and silently. Two shots pierce the silence of the quiet town. Screams and gasps follow. A third shot rings out, Followed by a hollow thump. The quiet town will never forget his last words… “Why does the owl cry into the night? He cries for his lost love, Seeking the one that stole her away. Crying out, “WHO? WHO?”, Screeching, calling, crying into the night. Seeking retribution on the one that stole her away.” |
