things that happen and that you remember. the inevitable.
April 20th

I woke alone.
Hearing the silence, I went downstairs.
Nothing. No one.
The door opened,
I heard footsteps in the hall.

Face to face with her a daren't open my mouth
for a fear I knew not.
before me a broken woman.
behind, her son:lost.

They took me to the hospital.
The grey building standing tall and proud,
yet inside its walls its no more than a slaughter <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=house&v=56">house</a>.
A <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=house&v=56">house</a> of death and decay.
Imprisonment.

I followed them to the waiting room
and i watched men in a drunken stupor enter
stained with blood.
And then we were called for.

The high rising white walls
and both doctors and patients in white gowns
made it look like some attempt of a likeness to
heaven
an attempt at a pleasant feel.

But the stench of antiseptic mixed with the smell of urine,
dampens ones hopes,
brings clouds of despair to the mind.

And still we're walking. Walking,
walking it seems to the very damnation of which is hell.
Men tug at my clothes, their eyes full of fear.
The nurses calmly pull them away
tuck them in like mothers do their child.
But when asleep they strike. injecting them with substances unknown, and the curtains close.

We stop and I see him.
The first <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=time&v=56">time</a> in weeks.
Face as white as the gown he wore.
He opened a weary eye and winked
and he clawed at my arm like a blind man.
He breathed my name and pulled me to him.

They injected him
I saw him slump as he was striken.
the curtains closed.

I woke alone.
He was gone.
