This is a common trait where I work. Betrayal is hard to forgive.
Eyes that don't contain a smile,
Though the spoken words beguile,
I think I have a true friend.
A crushing hurt comes at the end,
I see what there is going on.
Feel betrayed, my trust has gone.

I could murder at that moment;
Unleash a great tidal torrent
Of hate on this deceiver’s head.
Doublespeak has left me for dead.
Numbed I can't believe anymore,
Never again will be really sure.

I did not see the two faces,
A forked tongue always erases
Truth, open honesty prevents,
As a result my confidence
Takes a spiraling down-turn,
I hope a lesson I will learn.

If this person then speaks again,
This area inside my brain
That remembers, will shrink, withdraw.
What kind of fool do you take me for?
Will be my inner, private thought
Never again will I be caught.
