I Can't Believe

I can’t believe I’m a junior in high school
I can’t believe I’m almost 17
It seems just yesterday
That my nephew was born
And just yesterday I was 12
And my brother was getting married
I remember and regret
Being a little brat as a child
Not caring about anyone but myself
But over time as a teenager
I had made friends
And they rubbed my bad side in my face
I lost those friends
And for the longest time
I didn’t have any
Now, surprisingly
I have a boyfriend
And friends that I don’t even know
Two years of deep depression
And two long years of crying every night
I am glad to be alive and healthy
And with so many people who care
And love me
