Another personal poem surprise surpise- rate it please! Peace
There’s knocking on the door
Something I’ve heard before
You’re screaming my name
You’re saying I want to see you
I have to see you
But guess what
I don’t want to see you
So give up

You like to think
I’m so strong
But deep inside I’m lost
Something’s gone forever
A piece you took along with you
Like that time you had to have your way
Or when you ruined my birthday
I know you like to forget
But I’m sorry I can’t

Memories last for years
Even dried tears can’t hide these fears
Coldness still holds me
Where you left me
Where you left me all alone

Somehow you seem to care
Like I’m some duty for you
But you don’t need to worry
Because I’m better without you
And dry those empty tears
They don’t mean a thing to me
I’ve had my own tears and nightmares
While you were too damn busy

Make your daily calls
There just protocol for you
You don’t really want to know
How I’m doing
If you did you would try
And you can think what you want to think
Say that you’re going to visit one day
I don’t need a visit to figure
This isn’t going anywhere

Save you swears for tomorrow
When you drown yourself in sorrow
These games are getting old
And I’m tired
Too tired to be bothered
Keep on believing
It’ll work out in the end
The truth is I told you
Nothing’ll ever be alright
