Just thoughts.
He wipes angrily at the tears that come to his eyes,
He was always told as a child that women despise
A man that cries, they think that he is wimpy and weak,
Most like their men tough as for security they seek
Strength and support; why did his mum feel she had to jump?
Leap from that bridge to her death, his heart begins to pump
Almost skipping a beat, one tear escapes, falls alone,
Why all his life, since that day, has he tried to atone
For her act? The church says suicide's a selfish crime.
The orphanage's nuns made him feel he was doing time,
Used his abandonment as an example to show
Others his failings. No one came close enough to know
His angry feelings, aggression by his hate fed
For his once loved mother. Back to now, he shakes his head
As he stares at the ground so very far down below,
Thinks of his son for a moment, then jumps; now they'll know!
