Uniformity

Chilled by the cold,
Scorched by the heat.
Blinded by the light,
Falling in the dark.

Trembling in the silence,
Pierced by the sirens.
Abandoned in loneliness,
Lost in the crowd.

Uneasy by the rich,
Depressed by the poor.
Aggravated by children,
Burdened by the elderly.

But much more would I live with these,
Than live with none at all.
