She wakes up every morning with a frown,
She soon plasters a fake smile on her face,
A fake spring in her step,
A fake laugh in her voice,
She puts in her contacts,
And puts on her make up,
And the latest fad clothing,
So when she's done she looks perfect,
Inside hoping she can fool the world,
Better than she fools herself,
Silently hoping to feel like she acts,
She wears a mask to disguise herself,
To feel like she looks,
Hoping and praying that she can fool herself someday,
Even though deep down she knows she never will,
But she still puts on her mask in vain,
It's all she knows,
She's empty and hollow.
She's a mask.
